The Story Behind The Song

Give Me Some of That is my first release since 2016. I had very much planned for this to be a positive moment in my career, but 2020 is distorted with the impact of AB-5 and Covid-19. I hope fans will consider purchasing or streaming my new single not only because I am excited about the song, but also because it will truly be a big support and help me get through this difficult time due to limitations in businesses and unclear future ahead. As a career live performing musician it is a scary time. I truly hope fans will enjoy this recording and add it to their personal playlists and love stories.

Since I began performing Give Me Some of That live, fans have asked when the song will be officially released. The day has been long anticipated and it is finally here!

Writing this song started after a call with the opportunity to open for Josh Thompson. Josh is an incredible songwriter who has top country releases and has also written songs for many other major artists including Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Brett Young and many more. Before the show, I challenged myself with only a couple of weeks to write a new love song that would fit some of Josh's recent releases. Give Me Some of That was well received that night so I kept performing it almost every show since.

My father who was a general contractor helped me build a recording studio a few years ago and I have done many recordings and always been able to find inspiration in that space. When I began recording Give Me Some of That, I knew there needed to include pedal steel guitar. This track couldn't have been completed without the encouragement from my great friend, music producer, outstanding musician, and pedal steel player, Richard. He pushed me to get better at music, pedal steel, and recording. Without his contribution, this song and many others that I have written would have remained on the shelf. I miss him dearly and I wish that he could hear what this song has become.

I am very proud to say that I wrote, performed all the instruments, produced, recorded, mixed, mastered, created artwork, led the marketing campaign, and released this song. I owe this all to my family, friends, and patient fans who have pushed me forward for many years and continue to encourage and inspire me daily.
